ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURES is from Ecclesiastes, 3:1-8 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; A time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace.”

DISCLAIMER:  Unfortunately patience is not one of my better virtues, so I often rehearse these verses in an attempt to get a better grip on myself.  Does it work?  Meh.  Some days, sometimes, most often fleetingly!  There is always so much to be passionate about, so much that stirs me . . . sometimes with a good outcome, sometimes not so much.  My fiancee, Greg, scored some vintage windows for my commercial kitchen [fist pump]; unfortunately upon completion my view will now consist of commercial poultry houses across the field, marring the otherwise serene countryside on our dirt road [disenchanted sobs]; my Dean’s List Double Honor Society daughter, Sawyer, will graduate from Loyola University this May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies! [huge smile and proud fist pump]; with said graduation (read: no more tuition) my very long 5-year plan can now be implemented [fist pump and somersaults]!

A Time To Bake

The time is finally here . .  . let Wedding Season commence! Last Spring saw a major shift in Mill Stream Farm’s focus; we began working with so many wonderful couples to make their special day SWEET!  And let me tell you, every single couple was a delight to work with. EVERY. SINGLE. COUPLE.  No Bridezillas here.  No Monster-In-Laws to be seen.  We skipped away HAPPILY EVER AFTER . . . and can’t wait to hear the adventures of their first year when they pick up their complimentary Anniversary Cake!  Actually, I’m looking forward to a slideshow for years to come of Baby Showers, Gender Reveals, Baptisms, First Birthdays, Graduations . . . Yes, friends, thank you for the invite to be part of your family, I ACCEPT!

Although our schedule is a bit more harried, as mentioned we still enjoy creating all types of baked goods to celebrate those special birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries and corporate events.  Our inquiry form applies to those orders too, so slide on over to our website!  Speaking of which . . . Wherever our focus may wander, you can count on Mill Stream Farm to serve up the most delicious, most decadent baked goods that will ever be introduced to your palate.  Make sure to check our website often for any new introductions . . . this Spring we’ve taken Jeanne’s Lemon Roll to the next level, put a little “swirl” on it if you may.  Looks suspiciously like fresh ripe red raspberries, simmered with sugar, and swirled all around our lemony cream cheese filling.  Talk about a perfect match

.

Don’t forget to give us a shout out on social media when we’ve created a cake, pie or desserts for your special occasion, even when we’ve just taken an “every day” to the next level with our SWEETNESS!  You can tag us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @MillStreamFarm.  You never know when we’ll have a drawing and you could be the next big winner of something sweet!

If you have a wedding on the horizon, one of the first steps to secure us for your wedding cake and dessert bar is to fill out our inquiry form on our website… https://millstreamfarm.net/bakeshop-local/#order.  There is  no commitment to us at this point (you’ve already got the biggest commitment secured), but submitting the form will put you in our order queue to have first dibs at your date if available.
