Another Eastern Shore Boy, Jeff knew at age 4 he wanted to join the United States Naval Academy and was involved with the Navy Sea Cadets at age 13. During his senior year in high school he applied to the Naval Academy; he didn’t receive a nomination nor was he accepted. The following fall he applied again and again wasn’t accepted. He pursued other interests, taking classes at community college and serving as line cook at local restaurants; it was not his passion. After three years he decided to enlist in the Navy. He entered in March 2014 and was accepted for the Nuclear Engineering program in Charleston, SC. While there, with the   encouragement of his Commanding Officer, he applied again and was finally accepted to the Naval Academy! The Naval Academy sent him to the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Rhode Island in June 2015. While there he was promoted to E5.  He received a nomination from Congressman Harris in December 2015 and graduated from NAPS in May 2016 with a 3.8 GPA. Jeff officially accepted the nomination and is now part of the United States Naval Academy Class of 2020 majoring in Aeronautical Engineering. He still plans to pursue his dream to become a Naval Aviator after graduation. We hope this story will inspire someone whom is also chasing his/her dream to never give up!
