I was given creative freedom ... it was her birthday and he just wanted to surprise her with a Mill Stream Farm cake. She’s a floral designer so of course I did my first hand-painted floral cake. Instagram post 2272684512046761878_2827553290 A recent surprise 70th birthday cake and dessert bar I hadn’t posted yet. {vanilla bean cake with strawberry filling and vanilla bean buttercream .. assorted cheesecake squares, mini cupcakes (chocolate w/cream cheese buttercream; vanilla bean w/chocolate buttercream), Sweet Caroline butter cookies and mini tartlets (chocolate ganache, mixed berry and lemon custard). 70 never looked so good!
Instagram post 2269986265935290333_2827553290 Some of you may have noticed on my social media pages that although I have reposted articles from other pages, I have not myself sent out a plea to keep my small business going during these difficult times.  I’ve thought long and hard about this post, whether to post anything or not, and so here it is raw and transparent. I do not have a storefront open to the public, therefore I do not have the option for take-out or curbside pickup. I am not in the same boat as some other small businesses that have had to close their doors, because I have never had doors to open.  Every day, including yesterday, today and tomorrow, I count on my loyal customers to place their orders with me, to refer me to their friends, family and colleagues. This is my livelihood, THIS IS IT.  So I thank you for thinking of me now, and I especially thank you in advance for remembering me later when we’ve all survived this atrocity.  My business will without a doubt survive this; as long as I am here, I will be here for you. My website remains open for orders and that will not change as long as I am able to purchase ingredients, and shipping will continue as long as the postal service and dry ice is available (which could change before I even have this post complete). My products are not essentials, they are not necessities.  They are “feel goods”. I will not ask anyone to purchase them to keep my business afloat; instead I hope everyone has what they truly need to stay safe and healthy during this difficult time.  When my wedding couples have finalized their new dates I will be there cake in hand; the same goes for the birthday, christening, anniversary and shower celebrations that are being postponed, and the “just becauses”, as well as orders from my regular product line.  My main priority with all orders is and always has been to have a happy customer, to put a smile on people’s faces and in their hearts.  Stay safe, stay healthy, be strong and have faith.
